THE FOREIGN FLYING JACKETS

PAGE SEVEN OF EIGHT

THE “FLYING JACKET” DESIGN CREATED BY “OXFORD UNIVERSITY PRESS” INSPIRED FOREIGN PUBLISHERS AS WELL

“Biggles und der Goldschatz” translates as “Biggles and the Pot of Gold” or “Biggles and the Gold Treasure” depending which translation site you use.  It is a Swiss/German version of “Biggles Breaks the Silence”

Above is the Australian “Flying Jacket” version of “Biggles Flies South”.

It uses the same artwork on the front of the DJ as that used by Oxford University Press.

My thanks go to my friend Malcolm Kite who has pointed out to me that the Australian “Flying Jacket” books use different aircraft illustrations on the spine.

The diving aircraft looks more like a Spitfire on the Australian version.

You can see the UK version below for comparison purposes.

“Biggles en Co” doesn’t require the services of Google translate.  This is a Dutch version of “Biggles & Co.”
