Francois tell Bertie as much as he knows about the murder. Sending Francis on his way, Bertie goes into the kitchen to confront Mario in the hope of finding some information that will lead him to Ginger. Mario denies everything. Bertie see's teh Pernod sign half hidden and guesses that is to do with Biggles clue. When he goes to pick it up however, Mario strikes him over the head and knocks him unconscious.
