Voorbericht Hier is een boek, dat door
de jongens zelf werd uitgezocht. Het
is in het geheel niet verwonderlijk, dat hun keuze is gevallen op een van de
verhalen van Captain W. E. Johns, die de meest gelezen schrijver van
jongens-boeken is in onze tijd. De
oorspronkelijke tekst van deze spannende geschiedenis enigszins ingekort,
maar onveranderd, is geannoteerd voor het Tweede Jaar Engels, en hoger. Zoals U misschien reeds gezien hebt, is aan
de samenstelling van de woordenlijst zeer veel zorg besteed. Bijzondere dank zijn wij versschuldigd aan
de leerlingen A. hoogeweegen en E. Jurgens, die in hun laatste jaar hun vrije

Advance Notice Here is a book that was
selected by the boys themselves. It is
not surprising at all that their choice fell on one of the stories of Captain
W. E. Johns, who is the most read writer of boy books in our time. The original text of this exciting history,
somewhat shortened but unchanged, is annotated for the Second Year English,
and above. As you may have already
seen, a great deal of care has been taken in compiling the glossary. We are particularly grateful to the pupils
A. Hoogeweegen and E. Jurgens, who spent their free time in the preparation
of this edition in their final year.
